Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, Lake Malawi, Liwonde National Park and Cape Maclear in Malawi

Days 1-2 TRONDHEIM/OSLO/STOCKHOLM TO VICTORIA FALLS
We depart from Scandinavia in the evening with Ethiopian Airlines for Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The flight originates in Oslo, stops briefly in Stockholm to take on more passengers and then heads for Addis Ababa in Ethopia. We change planes here and have time to stretch our legs and relax before the last stage of the journey to Victoria Falls. We are collected by the transfer shuttle to our accommodation, the legendary Victoria Falls Hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy – whether exploring Victoria Falls or just relaxing by the hotel pool.

Days 3-4 VICTORIA FALLS (B&B)
The Victoria Falls Hotel, popularly known as “the grand old lady of the Falls”, is situated in the Victoria Falls National Park, and is a member of the exclusive Leading Hotels of the World group. It is one of only three IS0-accredited hotels in Zimbabwe. The Edwardian-style five-star hotel combines the charm of the old with the convenience of the new. Set in lush tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees and semi-tropical shrubs, it provides the tranquillity and seclusion that many guests seek. The famous Victoria Falls are just a ten-minute walk away using the hotel’s private pathway, and “the smoke that thunders” or “Mosi-O-Tunya” in the local dialect, is clearly audible and visible from this luxurious landmark.

Days 5-6 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
In the morning of day 2, you will be transferred to South Luangwa N.P. You will be accommodated at Wildlife Camp for three nights. Here, you will enjoy the amazing life in the bush without the hustles of the city. on the day of arrival, you will have an evening game drive where you will appreciate the different types of animals that Africa has to offer. Wildlife Camp offers a much-needed niche for everyone who is enthusiastic about wildlife, Luangwa valley and Zambia –at an affordable rate. At the camp there are rustic en-suite chalets, a secluded en-suite tented camp, a Bushcamp for overnight walking safaris and a stunning campsite, all situated on the banks of the stunning Luangwa River. The Wildlife Camp is situated on land owned by Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ). The camp operates under their auspices and donates a considerable portion of funds generated by visitors to the WECSZ – roughly 60% of all the accommodation and camping fees, which in return supports the wildlife and people of the Luangwa Valley and Zambia.

Day 7 LAKE MALAWI
After spending some amazing days in Zambia, it is time to go and chill at the amazing fresh waters of Lake Malawi. Kumbali Lake Retreat is a new eco-friendly lodge on the beautiful shores of Lake Malawi. Owned and run by the same family who owns Kumbali Country Lodge, Kumbali Lake Retreat comes with the same familiar “home away from home” feel with comfort and nature as the main focus. The property is built into the side of Lifuwu Hill which is home to the indigenous Samanga Monkey. Offering 4 individually thatched chalets each with a private outdoor lavatory and hot water shower, private khonde, walk-in mosquito nets, double or twin beds, ample storage space and breath taking views of the world famous Lake Malawi.

Days 8-9 LIWONDE NATIONAL PARK
After spending a night relaxing your muscles, we now take you to Liwonde N.P. where you will enjoy the amazing bush life. Mvuu Camp has a spectacular vantage point along the Shire River that draws all manner of fauna to its banks. The camp, comprising 12 units as well as a nearby campsite, is a clever mix of spacious stone and canvas chalets and specially designed family tents. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area offers a magnificent river vista that is framed by two large baobab trees. Dinners are sometimes held under the stars in a specially constructed boma. A custom-built education and conference centre with facilities for up to 40 delegates or smaller corporate and team building functions is available.

Mvuu Camp offers a wide range of accommodation options such as full board rates and camping, and a variety of activities including boat safaris on the Shire River, game drives, nature walks, a three-hour Rhino Tracking Experience (with most of the proceeds going to rhino conservation) and non-stop birding. Trips to community projects in nearby villages and Nanthomba School are also popular.

Days 10-11 CAPE MACLEAR
This is the final day of life in the bush. Today you will be transferred to Cape Maclear for your boat to Mumbo Island for a true island experience. Mumbo is a pristine island in Lake Malawi National Park which, with its crystal clear waters and innumerable species of cichlid fish, offers some of the best freshwater scuba diving in the world and the best snorkelling on the Lake.The island lies 10km north-west of Cape Maclear, where reception and the nearest point of road access is located. The camp comprises five units (two twin tents and three twin reed chalets) perched on rocks high above the water shaded by lush foliage, each with bucket showers, ‘eco-loos’ and wooden deck. A hammock provides a comfortable spot to take in the idyllic Lake view. A twin-tented family unit is tucked into the forest near the main beach. There is a dining area, bar and watersport gazebo of timber and thatch.

Activities here vary from lazing in a hammock to snorkelling, diving, swimming, kayaking, walking and birdwatching. Guests have the option of boating or paddling to explore the granitic islands of the Lake.

Day 12 LILONGWE – ADDIS ABABA
We drive to the Malawian capital where you will be dropped at the international airport for the return journey to Europe.

Day 13 ARRIVE HOME in TRONDHEIM/OSLO/STOCKHOLM
